More carnivorous pitcher plants grown here in the Pacific Northwest. These plants are all grown outdoors unprotected year round. The following photos are from my bog garden.

These carnivores belong to the North American pitcher plant family, Sarracenia and Darlingtonia (the one that looks like a cobra snake):

Gorgeous isn't exactly the word ... Enchanting or spell-casting, perhaps, with a measure of delightful. How big are these "blossoms"?

    Great photos Flytrap!
Could you recomend any nurseries that sell those plants.
They would look great growing by my lakefront stream.
I also have arisima's they have similar flowers but are not carnivorous

Thanks PenderPalms... sorry it took so long to reply to your post. (I'm embarrassed to admit that it's been awhile since I last visited this UBC bot forum).

The two places I like shopping for these plants are:
    Hawaiian Botanicals (Richmond BC)
    Keehns Carnivores (Lumby BC)

sorry I don't have their websites... but you can easily find them with a google search.

    Good luck!
