    Re: acer palmatum Oriental mistery

    I like the orange veins in the red leaves - very cool! Looks like something you would see on a coleus plant.

    Any idea if this is available in the U.S.??

    These are the mature leaves from the first flush as they look in early July. Full sun till about 3pm. (The leaves behind on the right are a different cultivar) It looks like a second flush is incoming so will add more pics then to show the contrast.

    Second flush leaves now arriving, mid/late July. First shot shows newly emerged leaves contrasted to old at top of plant, should be able to make out some fuzz on the new ones. Second is a lower shoot that was a little more forward, all four leaves on this shoot are part of the second flush:
