All looking vibrant and very colourful.
What a difference between specialist nursery grown plants and what we see in garden centres.
All your young plants have good structure and you can see how they will grow out with or without a little hel

Hello, the first two photos are of a bud graft, just like the fruit trees are grafted, and the last one is a graft of cuttings, I am looking for someone to sell some cuttings of varieties of acer that have red leaves to be able to make some grafts, and to be able to make a thread showing how they are done so as not to leave scars, with those that I have published I have not been able to do it as I would like, because they barely had sap to peel off the bark, since it was a cut cut in December, which a friend of mine gave me your deshojo maple, and it's been in the fridge until March 10 or 12 that I grafted them.

As we can't get out at the moment, can I share a photo I took just 12 months ago today at Sheffield Park. It does show that less is more. Just 3 small acer palmatum 'Autopurporeum amongst a lot of green. Hope you like it!!

The cute A. campestre 'Nanum', A. pseudoplatanus 'Leopoldii', my sycamore selection 'Gillian', A. campbelii ssp wilsonii, 3 of A. shirasawanum 'Palmatifolium' in the last light of the afternoon. Worth mentioning this is perhaps the toughest of all JMs! A. rubescense 'Wakikasa nishiki', A. platanoides 'Tharandt' with its nasturtium-like leaves, 'Higasa yama' just starting, 'Villa Tarranto', flowers on A. circinatum 'JFS Pacific Purple'.

All 'Stunning' emery, and a maple named after your daughter how wonderful. My wife says that Gillian is a very pretty colour. I have to agree, it's perfect on a sunny Spring day. Thanks for sharing these this evening.

Does this leaf look familiar to anyone? It was labelled up as Tsuma Gaki. I'm pretty sure it is not that. The plant has very smooth greyish bark.

The lobes look too stubby for both Gaki or Beni. They typically have longer and more slender lobes. The tips are trying to turn red on yours , so give it a few more weeks to see if you get the tell tell red fingernails. It is still a bit early to tell.

Ok thanks. I'll definitely keep watching. It's a shame really as I was quite excited about that one. Oh well, it may be something else pretty cool instead.

Anyone know what variety of Japanese Maple this is? Has very small leaves. 1"-1.5" leaves or leafs.

Hi vbx, not sure about the name but it looks a typical dwarf variety ie small leaves and multi branching. Very healthy tree though to cherish.

Hi VBX, if the leaf size likes you said, I agreed with Acerholic they are the dwarf type. I have two: Shishio Hime and Murasaki Kyohime where their leaves look similar to yours. Here are my few pics of their in the early opening stage late March. I will take the pic again tomorrow to see if they are closer now.

Hi Harcuvar, love your Usugumo, such a delicate variety. Unfortunately can't get it over here. So will have to enjoy your photo. Thankyou.
