Hello, please help! I have an Aromatnaya quince and a Comice pear that are suffering the same malady. Both are relatively young trees, been in the ground a couple of years, but they are both suffering from yellowing, puckering leaves, and the quince, especially, is failing to thrive. At this point I don't know if we're dealing with a soil deficiency, a fungal disease, or insect damage. The soil is rather poor and sandy, but we're working hard to amend that. Location: Whidbey Island, WA.

Quince on the left, pear on the right.

    Thank you for your insights.

The pear itself has a tiny bit of rust and we are removing the affected leaves, the quince has no rust.

Thank you, chimera. We cut off all of the affected branches on the pear, and sprayed the quince with sulfer. Hopefully, this will put and end to the worst of it. Thanks for your help.
