I pruned "Schlumby" last spring (had some withered branches). No blooms last winter, but the previous winter, many dozens. I notice there are now two or three very pale green leaves... I am wondering if they are diseased, and should be pruned?

The one side is getting totally overgrown, but doesn't suffer from any pale leaves there. I'm wondering if it's healthier to prune it 'open' some more... or just leave it to nature??

    See pics...
