Could your cukes be a yellow-skinned variety?

Most green cukes turn yellow when they are over-ripe, but there certainly are yellow-skinned varieties. Did the yellow ones start out green?

Were any other cucurbits planted near-by? They look sort of like lemon cucs that have cross polinated with something else. barb

If planted too close you end up with squasumbers or cucumccinis. One year I planted similar plants too close and no one would eat them becayse they looked so weird - didn't taste too good either. Cheer up! This is how we learn. If nothing else it is "don't do that again" ;) Barb
