    Looks like picea, could it be Picea orientalis aurea (whose new growth is yellow)?

    Thanks for posting it Silver surfer. I dug in Google and could not find a good Picea pic to match the bright yellow cones. Want to be in on the answer...::))

    Picea spinulosa is the local native spruce; this looks OK for that.

    The yellow objects are pollen cones.

    Many thanks for that confirmation Michael.
    I tried to research Picea spinulosa before posting, but images not very clear.

    The pollen cones were very yellow.
