I got out the camera today, if only briefly (the heat ran me back inside). Took a few random shots from the garden. Will post more. Everyone, share some pics of your garden in High Summer!

1.) Oku kuji nishiki - A dwarf form of Butterfly which I absolutely love!

2.) New leaves unfurling on Hana matoi. One of my most colorful maples.

    3. & 4.) Beni hoshi pushing summer growth. The color is stunning in the right light.

5.) Kamagata - putting on ridiculous growth this year! Look at all those new stems! This plant will double in size before the end of the season. Unbelievable.

6.) Musashino - chocolate leaves are holding their color well in dappled light. I like this one.

7.) Baby Lace in a pot. I decided to try some pots this year, and like the look. This one has moss, ivy and a dwarf hosta called 'Blue Mouse Ears' for company.

I believe I got the Oku kuji nishiki at a Maple Society auction. It came from Fred Hooks at All Things Acer.

Correction. I got it from Pendulous Plants (although it isn't pendulous!)

I've decided to keep a journal of all my maples on a blog. I had so many pictures on my computer it was slowing it down. I can keep track over the years with notes and pictures of growth as well as fall color, etc. Check it out if you like. It's not fancy, just for me.

Thanks so much. It (blog) becomes like tracking your children, almost. The growth and changes are amazing. I like that I can look at them anywhere, too.
