Is it possible that these three plants could all be suffering from the same fungus? The lilac has wilt on new growth. The emerging leaves on the cornus are turning brown and withering. The evergreen huckleberry has spotted leaves and the flowers are drying up. I've never used a fungicide. Can anyone recommend an organic or otherwise less harmful product?
Perhaps all three were frost damaged while in bud. Down here, we had a hard frost about 2 weeks ago, many plants that had broken dormancy but not leafed out are now leafing out with damaged foliage. Those that had leafed out have significant browning (and in the case of lilacs, wilting) of that foliage.
I now think that the dogwood has anthracnose (most likely exacerbated by being in the shade) and the lilac has wilt of some kind. We have had a mild spring, so I don't think cold weather was a factor.
