I've had this for at least 3 years and I have no idea what it is? It grows in water and it actually came with a betta fish in the vase when I first got it, but it has long since past away. Also, it's been going downhill over the years, is there anything I can to to revitalize it.

Has an aroid-ish look about it.
Also has the look of a plant that could use a repot in some lovely fresh soil with good drainage.

Hey, where in Ohio are you?

yes, probably some kind of aroid.

is it in water or soil at the moment? what about the temps and sunlight it's getting?

Looks like there could be a nutriment deficiency. Possibly phosphorus. A good idea to re-pot as said before and maybe into different pots and see what type of soil and fertilizers are best suited for this plant. The ph could be out of whack also by constant watering over the years and starving the plant of vital nutriments.

Hopefully it will come back to life soon, I am going to take a pic of it every week to see how it progresses. Again, thanks for the advice, I'm in Delaware, OH by the way.

Looks good! Your plant should be much happier now.
Ah, Delaware---my old stomping ground! I am an OWU alumna.
