Identification: Fungus and Lichen on Oak

    Hi I was wondering is anyone could help me identify this fungus that is on the branch of an oak tree. I know the green ones are a foliate lichen, but the fungus I don't know. This is from a tree in Northern California.

    It's very beautiful! Do you know if it is smooth or has pores on the underside?
    My guess (assuming smooth underside) would be something along the lines of a Hairy Stereum.

    Hi Frog, Thanks so much for helping me. Yes, smooth undersides. I looked up other pictures of Stereums, and it is probably what I have.

    That sure is a nice crisp image.

    I don't know many fungi names, but sure enjoy taking photos of them. One reason that autumn and winter is my favorite season in the forests.
