    Hi,
I have a question about the maggot barriers. I slipped them over my fruit and tried twisting/wrapping the open end around the stem as per the instruction. This is pretty loose though, is this all that is needed? Or should I try to pull two ends from it and do a small knot?

    thanks

I can now answer my own question. The barriers only need to slip over the apple such that neither end pokes out. The coddling moth flies and lands on the apple, they apparently do not crawl up to the fruit via the stem.
