Flowering potatoes

    Some of my potato plants are starting to flower although the plants do not appear to have reached their full height. Would removing the flowers mean bigger potatoes as the energy required to mature the fruit would be diverted to the the potatoes?

    Remove the flowers, unless you want the seeds.
    Yes they will take some of the energy away from the tubers.

    Many thanks. It is rather strange that the most recently planted ones are flowering first. Can't remember which type they are. Really will have to start a gardening journal.
