I guess you could add some soil on your leaf pile...or even manure. then if you can find them ..you can buy worms that are being sold for...
I may be wrong but in my experience...all fruit trees do that when they arent pruned properly. but that I mean that the tree should be opened up...

if these bugs are really the source of your problem...the only alternative is to either use pesticide...which I dont recommend or wash the roots...
if you wanna use chemical fertilizer then 30-15-30 is good for wbj. other wise use straight sheep manure if u can find it. 4 feet from the house...

actually liquid dishwasher soap works better than plain dishwashing liquid. 1 tsp per gallon of water
