I first saw the name Zingiber mioga as a marker on the Garden Explorer map, when I was looking for something else. When I checked it out in June, four months ago, it looked like this. A month ago, there were still no flowers. But finally, here they are, the flowers. I expected that they would be clearly attached to a leaf stalk, so I spent some time convincing myself that they weren't some unrelated bulb. There are two plantings, so it was a little more convincing to see them scattered around both areas.
November 4, 2025, the Zingiber mioga leaves have yellowed and have fallen over, but they are so dense that it still wasn't easy to see the flowers, except for this one clump.
