I first saw the name Zingiber mioga as a marker on the Garden Explorer map, when I was looking for something else. When I checked it out in June, four months ago, it looked like this.

A month ago, there were still no flowers.

But finally, here they are, the flowers. I expected that they would be clearly attached to a leaf stalk, so I spent some time convincing myself that they weren't some unrelated bulb. There are two plantings, so it was a little more convincing to see them scattered around both areas.
