Hi there - I've been trying to figure out what's going on with my yucca. Recently, any new growth leaves come out real thin and curly, and dry up at the tips and die. All of the leaves are covered with a very fine white powder that makes the leaves feel moist. I'm guessing mildew, but I don't know for sure. Was thinking of washing her down with a neem/castille soap mix, but would appreciate any input. Oh, she gets a fair amount of sun (2 skylights above), and I only water her about every 2 weeks or so, when the top few inches of soil are dry, and give her a good water till it's coming out the bottom. Thanks so much for any help -glen
It's a mildew which is very common in Yuccas. To get rid of it take off all the effected leaves, which are curling up because of it. Also be sure when your watering that you don't get the other foliage wet. You can also use a sulfur-based fungicide to help with it. Hope this helps, Emily
