Yucca Baby

Discussion in 'Woody Plants' started by Vernease, Feb 22, 2006.

  1. Before I realized that my Yucca plant needed a lot of light and allowed to dry out it went through a not so good adjustment period, where one of the bulbs broke off of the tree. I have put it in water and it is growing little white roots. How long should I wait befor repotting the bulb? I tried once before and when I put it back in the soil it died within days.

    Thanks so much.

Roots grown in water are different to roots grown in soil. When you transplant the cutting make sure you give it plenty of water as it adjusts to soil conditions. Using a well drained mix so the cutting does not rot, you may find it just as easy to strike in a pot. Probably best off establishing roots in a pot before planting into garden.
