Hi. ^_^ Thanks in advance for just taking the time and interest to read this, even if you can't help out. Okay. Since I've lived here for the past 10 years, there's been this... plant growing in the front yard which was planted before I ever moved in. Its never really bothered me to know just what it is until this past winter (I live in Georgia USA) when it was blooming. I was driving up town and saw a whole bunch of them had been planted along the roads in town and were blooming as well. So now it has me curious about just what it is and what its called. To help all of us out here, I cut off one of the smaller pieces from it, scanned it in, and even added some paint drawn pictures of what it looks like throughout the year. http://urwws.jazzerace.com/plant.jpg Oh, and just so you know, the ones I saw uptown are all really short and well cut (obviously by a landscaper or pro. gardener) while the one I have here in my front yard is SERIOUSLY big and overgrown. Its easily over 5 feet tall. If any one out there can help me figure this out, I'll be SO totally greatful! Once again, thank you kindly for your time! I really appreciate it! Oh! And if you have any questions you want to ask for better details about this plant to identify it, feel free to ask away! ^_^ I'm here to help!
hi .. not exactly sure, because i've never been to georgia, and don't know what grows there, but your plant looks like a forsythia to me .. we have them growing on vancouver island, and they are in full bloom right now .. so beautifull ..
Hi I would agree with forsythia. I saw quite a bit of it down there. There are a few places I have seen in Chilliwack BC and Georgia where they are used as a loose forming hedge. Regards Doug
Ahh forsythia... what a name. Thank you kindly!!! FINALLY its not bugging me any more about what its name is! Thank you! Oh, and one more question if its all right, just what kind of plant IS it? I mean... I know its not a tree, nor is it some little bitty flower, maybe a kind of shrub? But usually when I think of a shrub, this big ol water fountain looking plant doesn't look like any usual shrubs I know of.
