I would appreciate help in identifying this plant seen yesterday in the Madison River Valley of Montana nearby the river. It is approximately 24" tall, and has rigid pods at the base of most leaves. I could not determine if the yellow flower was fully open.
Thank you Margaret, but I don't think it's a primrose. Note the rigid pods alond the stem at the base of the leaves.
