I'm assuming the attached is some kind of lily but would appreciate any further clarification. Thanks, David
Asiatic Hybrid 'Connecticut Hybrid' David, I believe that you have a type of lily referred to as an Asiatic Hybrid, variety 'Connecticut King'. These are hybrids that bloom in early summer. They can grow anywhere from 2 to 5 feet tall, with 4 to 6 inch flowers in shades of red, pink, orange, yellow (like your 'Connecticut King'), lavender, or white. Their growth is compact, making them a good choice for growing in containers. The flower is variable in that it may face up, down, or out. Here is a listing of a few other Asiatic Hybrids readily available: 'Enchantment' -- orange 'Avignon' -- red 'Vivaldi' -- pink 'Sterling White' -- white Hopefully you will find this helpful. T. Thanks very much for the clarification, and for the names of the other hybrids to look out for. - David
I also have a yellow-ish lily growing in my yard. It was given to me, I'm not sure what type it is. The height is only a foot if that. Any idea why it would be so mini? These may be silly questions as I am new to gardening! Thanks =)
