This yellow flower was blooming on a beach near Whitefish Point in Michigan's Northern Peninsula (Lake Superior). What is it?

An Oenothera, I suspect. Generally challenging to identify to species, requiring close-up photographs of the floral parts and fruits.

Or the Enothera's relative, Camissonia, if the stigma is not 4-cleft. Although, it is rather rare in the eastern states.

Camissonia is apparently not present in Michigan.
