Yellow Flower/Plant ID Requested

    Would anyone be able to tell me what plant this might be that is covered in yellow flowers. See photo.

    Broom, not sure if it's Cytisus, Genista or Spartium.

    Are these desirable plants? I know that the Scottish Broom here has become a nuisance along the highways.

    Well, that was interesting! Thanks for posting that. I had no idea that Lotus is a terrestrial genus with roughly 100 species and that's what those creeping pea-looking things are. And the aquatic lotus flower does not have the botanical name "lotus" at all - it's Nelumbo nucifera (well, I did know that).
