Yellow composite North Slope Flower

    Please help me identify this flower. It was taken on the banks of the Colville River on the North Slope of Alaska. Thank you

    Thank you abgardeneer. I'll look into that link and also do some searching under Bupleurum.

    I went to the link you sent me and ended up, through another link from there, at the same flower your found from Central Alaska. By Al Cook. I worked with Al Cook for about 20 years. (Maybe I should just be asking my friends about these flowers.) (grin) The picture looks very much like mine.
    I also found Bupleurum americanum in Flora of Alaska by J. P. Anderson. It grows all over this state. It is just a text book without pictures, but the description fits nicely. I am confident that this is Bupleurum americanum, (American Thorow wax, American Thoroughwax, and even American Thorough wort - this one from Flora of Alaska).
