I've read in several places that adding yarrow leaves (even in small quantities) will speed up decay in a compost pile. But I haven't found any sites/articles explaining why or how this is true. Anyone have more information on this, or have first-hand experience with yarrow in the compost? I've added some of my deadheaded yarrow blossoms to my pile, so I'm waiting to see if it makes a difference in the breakdown speed.
