    Need help identifying this tree growing in Knoxville, TN. Pictures attached.

  2. The plant is an althea or rose-of-sharon. It is in the malvacea (mallow) family. You may notice similarity to the hibiscus. The wood is weak, but it is easily transplanted even in summer.
