These trees are beautiful and I was wondering if it would be possible to make them into bonsai trees so they could be kept indoors over the winter. I know they grow very big and fast, but does this make it IMPOSSIBLE? Thanks. Some pictures of the tree http://www.google.com/search?q=rain...wA-Pb0QH05oDeDw&ved=0CCwQsAQ&biw=1680&bih=947 The wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eucalyptus_deglupta
http://www.princeofpalms.com/dir/wordpress/?p=1 Despite what's indicated on this site I doubt you'd have success with any species of Eucalyptus owing to their huge roots system and need for full sun. You might succeed if you kept it outdoors in Summer and over-Wintered it in a greenhouse. Even if successful I doubt the bark would look like trees grown in the ground.
Thats what I thought. Thanks for your response. I cant wait till i can move to a warmer climate to grow all the things I love lol. Just gonna miss peaches, apples, and apricots.
Wow, I'd never imagined such a beautiful tree ! No wonder you want to make it into bonsai. Thanks for the pics.
