Oh dear. Today I discovered one large branch of my hybiscus is badly damaged and I don't know what to do about it. Any ideas? I have provided 2 pictures of the damage... I hope they are clear enough. The weight of the snow has torn apart a very thick, tall (about 10 foot) branch, that has long branches off to others. I guess there is no such thing as mending it? or do we just have to cut it off? We don't have the proper equipment to do a good job, especially where the slice is... so is it 911 time to a Tree Specialist? Included here is also a picture of the tree in 2007 in full bloom. Oh... my poor, sweet, hybiscus.
Your Hibiscus may be salvagable.... try the following treatment:http://en.allexperts.com/q/Trees-739/2009/3/repair-split-branch.htm
Thank you very much K Baron... I will read up on it... and see how my tree does with that kind of treatment. I am crossing my fingers. joZ
