Our Red Banana plants have been outside for two winters in Austin, TX. The main plant seems seems to die, but babies sprout up and grow pretty good. Here's my questions:

    1. Is this normal for this area of the country for this plant?
    2. What can you do to not lose the bigger main plant?
    3. If nothing, what do I do with the seemingly dead stalk of the main plant the next spring?

    Help!
