On the water, windy balcony in Nanaimo. Black bamboo doesn't seem to like it and Japanese maples are looking a bit scrawny and windblown. East facing, right on the channel so the wind id a constant. Any suggestions for a great lush look?
Sounds like what you need are beach adapted plants. Perhaps neither of those two kinds you have already grows at the beach in nature, although I know where a long-established patch of another kind of bamboo is near salt water it shows the effects. Which brings up the question, do you think the spot is receiving salt spray?
Hi Rob, Check out his website. Also, just purchased a pink forsythia and apparently they are salt tolerant also. http://pender.ces.ncsu.edu/files/library/71/Salt Tolerant Plants.pdf
