Willow Tree has Holes in Bark..

    A Willow tree I have had for years has these holes in the bark in a pattern. It's almost like someone took a drill and drilled these holes. I'm worried it may be a disease or such.. I have attached some pictures of the bark.. Any help would be greatly appreicated.. Otherwise the tree looks heathly.

    Looks as though you've got some woodpecker action happening in Virginia. If I remember correctly, yellow-bellied sapsuckers tend to make holes like this. So, you are right: your tree HAS been drilled!
