willow tree disease or not

    I have a 6 year old willow that this year has new growths. Many such trees in the area also have the same thing. Local 'experts' have labelled this as a cancer or an attempt at flowering.. I need helop defining what the problem is if it is a problem.

    new growth is not usually considered a disease. irregular growths may be. a picture of the issue is really necessary for any sort of advice to be attempted.

    Yes, it's a disorder. Maybe some kind of mite. Maybe something else, maybe even something we don't have over here. Inquire locally. Here (in US) we have USDA Cooperative Extension Service with regional offices. Sometimes you can even get good help at an independent garden center (retail nursery).
