We have a 30-year-old willow tree that appears to be in trouble. The main trunk splits into two fair size limbs about 5.5 feet off the ground. There is a split starting to appear just below the Y, and for the first time we are seeing a lot of clear, foamy fluid. It will break our hearts to have to get rid of this tree. Would taking some of the weight off the top limbs help? Other than the bleeding/splitting, it is in great shape! And we love it!
I would suggest you contact a qualified professional to assess your tree if it is near enough to cause damage to your home or other valuables if it fails. If not, try posting some pictures here and we can try to offer some advice.
