Hello I was trying to get some clivia cut from inlaws. The pot was ultra tight don't want to make a less. We tried a vertical knife cut in circular motion. All I got was leaves. Didn't want to make it worse
Settled for a cutting what seemed seeds.
Would the leaves throw roots of let's long enough?
What's that oily colour seeping from them?
How can I grow some from these seeds ? Do they need to be dried or not? Thanks for your knowledge.

I know clivia in bc as an indoor plant that we grew in a large proper terra cotta plant pot (not glazed)

possibly we put it out in the summer on sheltered patio (I think so)

pretty peach orange flower - quite long-standing

in Newport Beach So Calif my aunt grew it outside as a landscape filler in the courtyard

I don't know why today I can't find the "new post button" so I will post this as a reply in my own thread. Maybe someone will read it? I am trying to grow Clevia from my first seeds in Vancouver Canada. My question is I had two red balls they finally fell off after nearly six month we are indoors in December. I would like to know are there more individual seed pods in one ball. I have seen someone braking it open and getting four individual ones. But mine seems smaller and maybe only have one? I am afraid to brake it I just put in water now and will go get fungicide.. I have lived in Belgium and South Africa where I had at least 50 plants in my large garden. Here I only have two in one pot that I bought at the nursery for gold price. I have managed to make them bloom twice each as per a Chinese gardener who told me. After blooming expose to hard direct sunlight for one month then back to total shade. Now near Xmas the second one is blooming again. Thank you Merci beaucoup. I also found this article very interesting but couldn't find a reply to my question.
