It's been a while since I last posted but spring is here in the Swiss Jura mountains and the first wildflowers are starting to bloom. These are some of the earliest since the daffodils are just now starting to bud (but not bloom). Anyway, the flowers on this plant are green. Some of the buds have a slight red tinge to the edge of the petals. I've seen this in some of the library books but don't have a good flower book here at home. Can anyone help me to identify this flower?
The flowers are already open. It is Helleborus foetidus. Common name Stinking Hellebore .See... http://images.google.com/images?q=h...1I7SUNA_en-GB&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helleborus_foetidus
Thanks, The pictures I took look exactly like those in the links, so Helleborus foetidus it is. Thanks Charlie
