This flower, I found at Mangalore (on Wikimapia), India.
The plant grows on slopes; flowers bloom perhaps during monsoon.

    Thank you.

HI I BELIEVE THE FLOWER IS IN THE ORCHID FAMILY. TRY TO RESEARCH IT TO MANY PHOTOS. EITHER SEARCH THE INTERENT OR TRY: the orchid place (singapore) or www.orchidwire.com click on alphabetical, then letter of the alphabet. there are many sites listed. good luck

I have my doubts that it is an orchid - Gesneriaceae? I'm away from all my resources while on my trip, sorry.

Thanks Daniel. It may/may not be orchid. I have a feeling it may belong to ginger family and could be related to cardamom (may not be botanically, though).
