wildflower ID

    im doing a wildflower project for my bio class where we press the flowers and classify them. so id appreciate it so much if anyone could help me out on this one. the picture is of the flower already pressed.

    it has a very thick stalky kind of weedy stem. with three bluish violet petals

    sorry the pictures are semi blurry.

    Are you supposed to be keying these plants out? I'll just tell you it is in the family Commelinaceae.

    If it's part of an assignment, I usually request students complete their assignment without tapping people for a direct answer, as I imagine teachers would prefer students use whatever suggested resources as help (particularly if it is a keying exercise!).
