Please help me identify this vine. It appeared very recently and quickly wrapped itself around another bush by my house. It would certainly have choked the life out of that bush if I didn't cut it back. Its leaves kind of remind me of maple leafs, its grows fast, and has not much of a flower - sort of 6-pointed stars that are light green in color. I've attached photos of the leaves and flowering ends (if you can call it that). Is this something worth keeping our should I get rid of it completely? Thanks, jer029
It resembles Echinocystis lobata. http://www.ct-botanical-society.org/galleries/echinocystisloba.html HTH Chris
I was just looking at Sicyos angulatus, but it didn't exactly fit. I believe Chris is probably correct.
Definitely echinocystis lobata : very invasive , vigourous , and non desirable here in our SW Ontario farm windbreaks .
