It has veined, alternate leaves and carries lots of fruits now in September. The RED berries have a star-like ending like Salal-Berries.

The shrub can grow high like a tree and I found it in the Pacific Spirit Park near Acadia Road.

Cotoneaster rehderi. An exotic weed in this region.

From W China and Tibet, this shrub has long been wild in Seattle...Old specimens of this shrub reach 8-15' tall, but most wild ones are young, thus small

Thank you so much. Now I will try and find out if the fruits are edible. Maybe you won't hear from me again. Cheers.

Not poisonous, but not worth eating either - dry, floury textured, and very astringent.

Dozens of species of Cotoneaster have been found growing wild in Seattle, maybe you will spot others there also.
