I think this is a wild raspberry, I even tested it. I cannot find anything with this dark color of berries. Berries are quite small, less than 1 cm in diameter and length, very tasty

This is the Black Raspberry, Rubus leucodermis, which is pretty common in the mountains of both coastal and interior BC.

Thank you very much. I read about Rubus leucodermis in wikipedia and common names are Black Raspberry and Whitebark Raspberry, what is really very descriptive for this plant!

Mom used to simply call them Black Caps. They are the only native berry allowed even encouraged in my garden. If you can find enough they make a heavenly pie!!! ;))) barb

I know it as black cap also. Individuals come up here and there in disturbed places, have probably never seen an entire patch of it.

I would think seeds, cuttings and layering would all have potential.
