Why won't my katsura tree turn pink in the fall?

It stays greem, then a burnished colour, then the leaves drop meanwhile I see bright pinks ones everywhere else. It is sper healthy and I planted it about 3 years ago, it does get a lot of shade until late day and is on an irrigation drip if that matters.

Looks pretty good to me - many others are mostly just yellow right now. You see the same kind of variation in other species of deciduous trees, vine maple for instance: lots of them are yellow and brown, the hot red and orange shades associated with the tree not being universal by any means.
