I planted it last year and it seemed to be doing ok but now all the needles are turning brown. It's been raining a fair bit (we're in vancouver) but maybe it needs fertilizer or some compost? What can I do to make it happy again?

    Thanks, Erin

A pine of some sort, too far gone to tell easily.

To make it happy . . . a comfortable trip to The Great Garden In The Sky (a.k.a. the compost heap). Sorry, but it's dead.

The past winter here was tough on new plantings. Looks like you will have to replace that tree.
