    Hi experts,
I'm wondering about these worms, which I've found in my vegetable garden today (in the soil amongst the potatoes) and I've also noticed in my lawn when I was aerating in the spring. We live in White Rock.

I found quite a few of them today, and also found their brown dead corpses (I think) in the soil.

Can you tell me what they are and if I should be concerned with them? Your help is very much appreciated!

White grubs are the larval stage of many beetles, including Japanese beetles.

They feed upon roots and the damage done can be quite extensive. Now is the time to take action, before you see bare spots on your lawn.

That's not good news! I'd be grateful for any suggestions on what to do about the grubs. From reading online, it looks like they are best treated in the fall as their feeding cycle is over? We have children so I'm hesitant to use anything toxic. Thanks for any advice.
