This is a very common wildflower growing in the grass all over Monroe County, Michigan. It is very close to the ground. Its flower looks like some sort of bindweed (Convolvulaceae) but I thought those were bines and these don't seem to be climbing.

Can you please help me identify it?

Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis) indeed. It is only climbing when it has something to use as support, otherwise it will act like it is shown in your picture.
