(moderator edit (DM) - originally posted to this thread but moved to its own after the first several posts) I saw a small group of these in Cobble hill today and was so curious it brought me to this site. Thank you for the posts, it helped me understand. There is also a flower that I saw a month ago and have never seen it before. It was single and very beautiful. White with carnation like petals. Pink scattered in the centre region and a long stem. I will search and see what I come up with ;-)
Re: White Shooting Star That would be exceptionally late in the season, unless you mean you saw the foliage?
Re: White Shooting Star No actually atleast a group of 4 flowers. I can take a photo of it tomorrow :-)...If I can find the exact area I saw it..it was roadside near ditch.
Re: White Shooting Star Here are the pics...Not just the same as above..perhaps another name? Excuse my grubby gardening fingers :-0
A white-flowering variety of hardy cyclamen -- not native, so it looks like it has naturalized in the area.
