Anybody has an idea whats on my dissectum garnet here? White bulbs beneath the leaves and grey bulbs on the stem?
Some sort of scale insect. Horse Chestnut Scale is the common one in Europe, and the one I usually get but that is only on the trunk and stems, not the leaves. Horse Chestnut Scale can be manually removed by rubbing and is more unsightly than damaging - not sure if your one would be worse.
Agreed, certainly scale. We've had what looks like this one, the good news is it rubs off, and a swap with alcohol seems to prevent it coming back.
I just sprayed all of them with bio pyretrex (pyrethrum). I use that for all my insect problems in the garden. Kills on contact, no residu.
Not sure at all they're the same but I had some "white flies" on a beech (Fagus sylvatica) recntly: Aleyrodes proletella - Wikipedia
Yeah Emery I had the same thoughts. More of an experiment. Got a vegetable and flower garden as well so these days I just walk around with a small spray bottle to get them everywhere they pop up. I did get most of them with a whipe.
