white dwarf peach tree

Discussion in 'Fruit and Nut Trees' started by sylviawelner, May 29, 2005.

  1. We have a tree that we think is a white dwarf tree. We think it was grown from seed. Is it likely to bear fruit? If yes, how many years would it take?

Is there a picture available for us to see to make sure that's what we have?

    Thank you,

    Sylvia

I think peaches bear fruit after three years, but are short lived trees. If you planted it from seed you can never be sure what type of peach will result because you can't be sure where the pollen came from and each new cross is a little different.

I write this with the caveat that I have never grown peaches. (Well my family had a peach tree, but I never did anything but pick from it.)

    Good luck,
