Identification: White chanterelle?

    Fund in the forest. Is this a white chanterelle

    Nope, not a chanterelle...it's superficially close, but chanterelles don't have actual gills, instead having folds that look like gills (if you do an online serach about this, you'll see the difference)/. It might be clitopilus prunulus, or perhaps a clitocybe instead...I will leave confirmation of this to more knowledgeable forum members, who will doubtless offer more detail and confirmation (or not)....the only part of my reply you should take to the bank: it's not a chanterelle.
