Now this, I'm pretty sure, must be a rose! (I just know that you're going to tell me it's actually a carnation . . . ;-)) But I'd love to know which rose . . . maybe that is a crazy question, because from what I can understand, there are thousands of the things! Would you be able to help with a cultivar and/or species ID, please? I took this photograph in the gardens of Forde Abbey, Somerset, UK. Thank you!! By the way, how do I enable smilies? I've searched and don't see an option for it, :-(
Sorry not a rose. Looks like a Paeonia. Common name Peony. Sorry, cannot id which one. UBC site has no signs for expressions. Guess you will just have to type "smile!" http://images.google.com/images?hl=...&resnum=0&q=paeonia&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peony
Hi Silver surfer, thanks for putting me right! I don't think I ever would have thought of peonies :-/ What do you guys think of Paeonia lactiflora "pecher"? It's the best match I could find after 30 minutes of googling. http://images.google.co.uk/images?q...ent=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi
