    Hi

I recently moved into a new house and in the garden is what I am told (by 2 seperate people) a Japanese Acer.

I've attached some pictures (taken on a phone so not that clear) of the tree and wondered if anyone could tell me exactly what type this tree is

    Thanks

    Paul

which means green dissectum, right? :)

Can't tell which one, but a nice green dissectum form of A. palmatum. Obviously thriving.

    It is a nice tree
You will not get any closer an identification than Acer palmatum dissectum ..... it could be any one of quite a number of possibilities of that type, or even a seedling from one of the cultivars

I've held off from commenting on this
tree for a variety of reasons. I can say
this however: by the growth habit, the
coloring of the leaves, the cuts in the
lobes, the number of lobes that this
Maple does show in the photos some
of the characteristics of a known green
dissectum that is pictured in the Vertrees'
books. Later on with photos of the early
and mid Spring coloration as well as the
Fall coloring, then we may be better able
to determine if this Maple is consistent
with the named form cultivar. Still, this
plant may be a seedling of it but even so,
this Maple in these photos is reminiscent
to being a named form green dissectum
that some of you are aware of the name
    of..
