I am trying to identify which species of Caesalpinia this plant is and I have had no luck finding any information online. Can someone narrow it down for me? I live in Southern California and the photos were taken in July. The photos are of two different plants. One with flowers, and one with seed pods.

    Thanks

    Compare with Senna sp. instead.

Thank you! I was steered in the wrong direction from someone at my local nursery. The plant in question is without a doubt 'Senna alata', aka Candle Bush. I found this webpage which clearly shows it:

  4. Are you sure it's not Senna didymobotrya?

You know - I think you're right. The two are very similar, but the pods and leaves more closely resemble senna didymobotrya.

    Thanks!
